“To go from being a heterosexually married person with children and all the perks and privileges to what will look like a gay marriage – two guys raising kids – yeah, boy, I’m going to get some real privilege out of that...The way I explained it to (my children) was I’ve always felt like a boy on the inside, and the outside didn’t match the inside. And I’ve done my turn as a girl, and now I’d like to be a boy. So, you know, they don’t know any of the political parts of it, or the prejudices people have to face. They’re just little kids, so they can relate to 'I’ve always felt like a boy or I’ve always felt like a girl.'”
